I too have a daughter and neice getting married this summer.<br />I apologize to anyone who takes the time to read my site. Unlike my sister I have little talent when it comes to writing and grammer.<br />I commented on the eatsalad site that I have not started my exercise because my time is limited in the morning. Yes I know the easy way to solve that problem is to get up earlier.<br />The problem is only temporary because my daughter was driving to school herself which left me 45 minutes before I had to leave for work, but right now I am taking her.<br />Like I said in my last log she is 16. You could probably guess.....she has been grounded from driving. The rule was you get a ticket or damage the car you are done. She damaged the car which is another story...<br />It is almost spring time. 20 more days until it is official.<br />My daughter says the brown is the new black and brown and tourquiose are the colors for spring....she wants to be a designer, of what I do not know but she is usually right when it comes to clothes and shoes.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/23073317-114125835921737922?l=artistinhiding.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>ArtistInHidinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05185045671718157961noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23073317.post-1141088085287542002006-02-27T16:26:00.000-08:002006-02-27T16:54:45.296-08:00I went in and added more today on my profile.<br />Under the music I have names of some current bands which my youngest daughter has me listening to (she is 16). Some of these bands are not even on the radio yet. She has created a mix for me and I must say she had made some good choices. There is also a local band she likes and they do not have a label yet they are called "Smile Thru This" from what I have heard so far they are going to do well.<br />I left some of the other profile boxes blank or I just put in something general.<br />The first one: List your interests...I put art. At first I was going to put "my daughters" because they are the main interest I have right now. Then I thought that would not work.....so I just put Art because that would be my next "interest". I am always interested in all kinds of art. I used to paint all the time...way back 30 some years ago....that is something I need to start doing. Which brings me back to my first interest...my daughters.<br />Lately I have been wondering what I am going to do when both my girls have moved on with their lives. What will be filling my time? I will no longer be driving to practices, going to games, droping off "things they forgot and need", going to school events, there will be no more getting ready for prom, picking up their friends for practices or shopping.<br />My oldest who is turning 22 in May is getting married in July.<br />I had always had made it a rule that as long as they played sports they did not have to work while in High School. Time goes by too fast. This is the time they should be enjoying themselves and you have the rest of your life to work.<br />My oldest one played sports and even played at college for two years. She played on a travel team during the summer. She also played on an out of school team in the fall. She has met and learned from current gold medal winners and she even has played at Disneys Wide World of Sports in Florida. It may not seem like much but it was to all of us at the time. I would have people say that they could not believe all the time and money we would spend on her sport and traveling all summer. I would only say that it does not last forever. And it does not.<br />I thought it would be hard when she decided to not continue. It really was not because she was ready to stop and move on to new things.<br />Now my youngest has no desire to go on to play at the college level. She does not have that passion and desire that my oldest one had.
